Applications

Excel Forecasting is used as a tool in different applications. We can see three major partitions:

• Economic time-series forecasting like sales, inventory, stock-outs.
• Technical time-series like network traffic, click streams.
• Financial time-series like Stock Market indices, stocks.

Of course each partition has its own peculiarities and needs a different approach in solving the problem of forecasting the time-series.
